2013 Wedding Colour Trends – Colour, colour EVERYWHERE!

2013 wedding bookings are coming in thick, fast and hitting us like a rainbow in the face and we LOVE IT!!! Brides are being bright, brave and beautiful with colour and the results are going to be stunning.

Inspiration from the catwalks is filtering down and now it’s not just the bridesmaids who get to be rainbow bright!

Romona KevezaMaggie Sottero and my personal fave Oscar de la Renta are all showing us the way with exquisite bold prints, bright colours and something a little different in their bridal collections.

If you love colour and vintage chic why not take inspiration from the fabulous Candy Anthony and flash your petticoat.

But if you’ve been dreaming of your wedding dress all your life and can’t bear to walk down the aisle in anything other than white, white, white then why not try some of these to make your day stand out from the crowd.

I’ve always loved mismatched bridesmaid dresses and this wedding has inspired so many of my brides, myself included! It’s a very elegant way to do colour and the matching flowers are so unusual and unique. Throwing away the rule book and letting each maid have their own colour immediately gets rid of the ”who looks good in what colour” argument and lets everyone’s look and feel their best.

Bright dresses not your thing? No problem- Why not have different shoes for each of your girls? I love this inspiration for matching bouquets and shoes I found on weddingbee.com……

…. and I can’t get enough of these photos by Californian husband and wife photography team The Schultzes, it perfectly captures the right way to use colour if you want to make your toes twinkle.

Beautiful Shoes If you want to keep it simple for the outfits then you can dress your venue with splashes of colour and make any venue look incredible. So far our brides for 2013 are favouring Turquoise, Hot Pink, Orange and Yellow but as far as I’m concerned the more the merrier! I’m not know for doing things by halves and that’s why I’m so excited about saying bye bye to baby pinks and hello to hot orange. If you’ve decided to go with colour then you better get your sunglasses out and commit to it! When your day arrives you’ll be delighted you did. Here’s some inspiration to whet your whistle!

We’re obsessed by lanterns at The Vintage Wedding Lady and these ones are sure to make an appearance next year- the best thing about them as we make them in any colour you want! Perfect for your rainbow wedding.

This centrepiece by US domestic goddess Rachael Ray is cost effective and bright during the day, then when evening comes simply light the candles for sheer simple elegance. Gorgeous!

Or how about going the whole hog?! This fabulous inspiration board from Burnett’s Boards shows Rainbow is back in a big way and it’s not just dresses where you can add colour.

And finally, how about this for a show stopper?! The guys at Rise & Shine Bakery have been making things bright and beautiful for years. Cakes are the perfect way to add fun, individuality and personality to your day- and even better you get to eat it too!

So whether you want to wow your guests with 2013′s hottest trend in full or just splash a little colour around your day now you’ve got the inspiration to help you on your way.
